ASYLUM
You may be eligible for Asylum in removal proceedings if:

You suffered persecution in your country of origin or have a fear of future persecution;

You were persecuted by the government or agents the government cannot control;

You were persecuted for your political opinion, race, nationality, religion or because you are a member of a particular social group;
-
Your government cannot protect you;
-
You have not commited certain crimes;
-
You have been in the United States less than a year (exceptions apply);

Among other factors.
CANCELATION OF REMOVAL FOR NON-LPRs
You may be eligible for cancellation of removal in removal proceedings if:

You have been physically present in the United States continuously for at least ten years;
-
You had good moral character for ten years;
-
You have not been convicted of certain crimes;
-
Your deportation would cause exceptional and extremely unusual hardship (medical, psychological, financial) to your LPR or U.S. citizen spouse, child, or parent.
CANCELATION OF REMOVAL FOR LPRs
You may be eligible for cancellation of removal as a legal permanent resident in removal proceedings if:

You have been a lawful permanent resident of the U.S. for at least five years at the time that the application is filed;
-
You have continually resided in the U.S. for at least seven years after being admitted in any status and before the “stop-time rule” is triggered;
-
You have not been convicted of an aggravated felony;
-
You have not received cancellation of removal in the past; As a matter of discretion, you deserve to win your case.
